Founded by Nafeesah Roberts As-Salafeeyah, the great-granddaughter of Grand Midwife Daisy Roberts, we empower women through holistic, culturally sensitive care during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. With over 12 years of professional doula experience, Nafeesah blends traditional birthing practices with modern insights to offer guidance tailored to each family's unique journey.
As the proud mother of six children and grandmother of five, Nafeesah brings a deep, personal understanding of the sacred beauty and challenges of motherhood. She is also the founder of the grassroots organization The Mbegu Birthing Project in Mobile, AL, dedicated to addressing disparities in maternal health through community-based support and advocacy. Additionally, she has served as a Guest Doula instructor with Atlanta's Families First Community Doula Program and recently opened the Daisy Marie Doula Development Academy, training the next generation of birth workers.

A Doula for Daddy
Having daddy actively involved in the pregnancy journey is crucial for several reasons. A doula can provide support for both mama and daddy, however, the presence of daddy is invaluable and could never be replaced by a doula. Daughters of Daisy Marie is committed to making sure Daddy feels empowered and educated as well with every step of the way. We show fathers how to provide comfort, reassurance, and a sense of security for the mother, helping to alleviate anxiety and stress during a potentially challenging and intense experience.Practical support is also crucial—assisting with tasks, communicating with healthcare professionals, and advocating for the mother's preferences. This active involvement can contribute to a more positive birthing experience and ensure that the mother's needs and wishes are considered. Furthermore, the father's participation fosters a stronger bond between the couple and promotes a sense of shared responsibility in parenting.
